Muslims of Edison Civic Alliance (MECA) — Text Messaging Program Last updated: July 2026
1. Program Description
The Muslims of Edison Civic Alliance ("MECA") sends text messages to community members who have provided their phone numbers to MECA. Messages include community directory verification requests and occasional community-related notifications.
2. Consent
By providing your phone number to MECA through membership sign-up, community events, or program registration, you consent to receive text messages from MECA at that number. Consent is not a condition of membership or participation in any MECA program.
3. Message Frequency
Message frequency is low — typically one to two messages per year. Frequency may vary based on community matters.
4. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan. MECA does not charge for messages, but your carrier's standard rates apply.
5. Opting Out
You can cancel the SMS service at any time by texting STOP to our number. After you send STOP, we will send you a reply message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed, and you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. To rejoin, provide your phone number to MECA again or contact admin@edisonmuslims.org.
6. Help
If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program, reply with the keyword HELP for assistance, or contact us directly at admin@edisonmuslims.org.
7. Carrier Liability
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
8. Privacy
